My 1st 90 Day results are IN!
It was a little over 90 days ago when I was first diagnosed as being Type 2 diabetic. It was a shock; kinda. When the Dr. gave me the news and told me how bad it was, I didn't know if I was prepared for this or not. But you're not given many options; at least not good ones.
So, I embarked on my journey to do the best I could and try and get my runaway diabetes under control. And so we began... 90 days of diet modification
90 days of no sweets; cake, candy, ice cream, cookies, etc.
90 days of no eating after 8:00pm
90 days of more exercise
90 days of sheer will power and drive to not backslide
Looking back, it was fairly easy; or easier than I thought. Why? Because I studied, researched, and looked for ways to still eat things I liked, substituting them for things I had to give up.
Ask me about snacks. I had them; just different from before.
Ask me about meals. I ate them; just a little different from before.
Ask me about Keto. I never knew I was so close to being Keto to start with.
Ask me about things like sugars vs. sugar alcohols; artificial sweeteners, glycemic indexes and glycemic loads.
Ask me about carbs, proteins and fats and why each are important and how to get the right amount of both.
Ask me about freaking Pork Rinds. Please ask me about pork rinds.
So, how did I fare after my 1st 90 days? Head over to https://youtu.be/5HLOTBwKNok to take a look. The numbers were good; great even. The Dr. wanted me to get from an A1C of 14 down to 10 in my 1st 90 days. I wanted to get to 8. Who was closer?
Do me the favor of watching the video; then hitting the subscribe button. That would help me out greatly. Future videos will address so many things about diabetes and diabetic care, health, and fitness. Also, please drop me a comment. Thanks!
